Dear Church Family,
Our Worship Pastor Search Team ... has been making site visits and are drawing closer to a decision on bringing a worship pastor and his wife "in view-of-a-call" to Emmanuel Enid. There are a few more meetings that will need to take place, but within the next month we should have information we can share with the church as a whole. I can't express enough my deep appreciation for Nicole Sallee, David Camp, and Michael Juliano for their work during this interim time. They have been an incredible asset to our worship ministry, and have assisted us in this process with their encouragement, vision, and wisdom.
Israel 2019 ... Rachelle and I and many folks from Emmanuel had a delightful trip to Israel over Spring Break. Every time I go, I realize how "life-changing" walking in the steps of Jesus is for everyone who makes the journey. Several of you emailed me or messaged me while we were gone saying, "Next time, I'd like to go!" Well, in an unusual step, I've already booked our next trip with my dear friend (Yuval) a former Israeli-paratrooper who will serve as our Hebrew guide, and his brother Boaz will be our bus driver. Anyone who went this time will tell you these two are quite the pair. The date for the next trip is more than two years away (Thursday, April 25th - Saturday, May 4th), but put it on your calendars and let Laura get your name on the list. We have a limit of 44 people who can attend, and 16 spots have already been reserved.
Today's services ... represent our LAST Sunday of the 2016/2017 Fiscal Year at Emmanuel Enid. Our annual budget runs from April 1st to March 31st. As the Spirit leads, give today with the knowledge that to meet our revised budget (reduction of $202,000), we will need a good offering. Our church takes no financial pledges from members, never guilts anyone to give, and tries to help as many people and ministries as we can (over $500,000 to missions and non-profits this fiscal year alone). We simply try to let you know of our needs and trust the Spirit to move in your hearts. Thank you for your sensitivity to the Spirit and your generosity. During today’s worship service church members will receive a ballot to vote on next year’s fiscal budget (discussed at our business meeting on March 5th). Next year’s budget represents a 7.5% reduction from this year’s fiscal budget.
Guests ... we are delighted that you are present with us in worship today. We will be studying the Gospel of Luke and invite you to the lobby after the service to meet some of our staff and church hosts to get more information about our ministries.
I want to thank the men and women who are part of the 1st Impression Ministry Team here at Emmanuel Enid. Every Sunday, this team of men and women make sure that when you pull into the parking lot, walk into the building, and enter the worship center, you feel welcomed and have a bulletin in your hand. These wonderful volunteers are literally the first impression that people get when they attend our church!
I talked to a couple that was visiting Emmanuel, and they told me how welcomed they felt. People tell me all the time what a great job our 1st Impression Team does.
We still need volunteers to be part of this team! If you are good with people, can drive a golf cart, smile, and hand someone a bulletin, we have a place for you!
Grab me after the service, or contact me at the church office.

There is a great conference coming up for the men of Emmanuel Enid! It is being held on Friday and Saturday, April 28th - 29th at Falls Creek Conference Center in Davis, Oklahoma.
The Rewired Men’s Conference is an annual event that takes place in the Arbuckle Mountains. The focus is transforming the lives of men through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
At 6:00, we have AWANA for our children and 412 for our youth. The longer meeting times on Wednesday evening provide the opportunity for deeper connections as we teach Bible truths in age-appropriate ways.
At 6:30, we have Bible study with Pastor Wade and weekly choir rehearsal. This semester’s 16-week Bible study is on “We Are Family: The Table of Nations” based on Genesis 10. This has been a fascinating study. On Wednesday, we will focus on "The Cure of Canaan: What it Means to Be the Servant of Servants". If you miss a session and want to catch up, you can visit our notes archive HERE.
Many of you have accessed the RightNow Media library and shared your excitement with the potential it provides you. There are Bible study series, men's and women’s studies, marriage and parenting series, AND some fantastic viewing for your kids all ready to be accessed from your phone, tablet, computer, or even sent to your TV!
The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. Francis Chan unpacks the dense truth contained in the book of James in front of the iconic backdrop of San Francisco, the city where he lives and ministers.
This study includes 12 sessions with videos ranging from 7-12 minutes long. There are also leader's guides and group handouts available to download. This would be great for your next group Bible study!
Each Sunday evening we have a Bible study led by Ralph Mitten at the Grace Place, SNL for our Singles, and PraiseKids for our children.
