Dr. John Stam currently serves part-time as Missions Consultant for Emmanuel Enid. John comes from a family with an extensive Christian heritage that has served him well as he has developed the missions program at Emmanuel over the last 18 years.
John graduated from Wheaton College in 1977. He began studying Choral Conducting at the University of Iowa in 1978 and graduated with his DMA in 1991. Prior to moving to Enid, he taught vocal music at Iowa City West High School and worked as a part-time Youth Pastor. Before coming to Emmanuel, John taught at Phillips University in Enid, OK from 1988-98 where he served as Music Professor, Chair of the Music Department, and Registrar. John is married to Mary and has four children and four grandchildren.
